Reiki For Vets Founders
William Brown served in the United States Coast Guard as a Chief Machinery Technician, retiring in 2014, after 26 years of service. After retirement, Will completed a BS in Workforce Education and a Master’s in Project Management. He is currently employed as the Director of Operations for a technology startup in Charleston, SC. Along with his wife, Allison, he founded Reiki for Vets, in order to give back to his fellow servicemembers. He is a Reiki Master Practitioner/Teacher and has been practicing since 2016.
Dr. Allison Brown, a National Board certified school counselor, has taught and counseled with students from Kindergarten through college and beyond. She holds a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership. In 2016, Allison and her husband Will, both veterans, founded Reiki for Vets, a VA-sponsored, nonprofit organization that operates free Reiki clinics for veterans, their spouses, and health practitioners in the Charleston, SC area. Their goal is to provide veterans, particularly those struggling with PTSD, with tools designed to hasten their recovery and facilitate their reintegration into civilian life. In addition to being a Reiki practitioner, Carrie Bossinger is a holistic healer, certified professional coach, and consulting hypnotist. Her passion is realized through connection with others and facilitating the healing of their mind, body, and spirit. She loves watching others rise and excel through the sharing of her gifts. Nozomi “Nomi” Garcia has been studying energy healing of various modalities since 2006, including the Barbara Brenan Healing Practice, Usui Reiki, and Chios energy healing. She is a certified Usui Reiki Master teacher and a Chios Master teacher. Nomi also works with children as a Montessori teacher. Her life is dedicated to children, adults, and the community to help them cultivate a better life and create a peaceful world.
Krista Whalen, a certified yoga instructor, has studied meditation and yoga for 25 years. In 2004, as she began to teach yoga classes, she noticed that she could sense the energy within the room and her students. As a result of this experience, she decided to explore Reiki, which she has practiced for the past 14 years. Krista loves sharing the gifts of a peaceful mind, body, and spirit!
Marion Cain, recently retired after 18 years in the Federal Civil Service. His federal service included service in Departments of Justice, Homeland Security, FEMA and Defense. His last position was on the staff of the Secretary of Defense in the Pentagon.
Previously, Marion served 26 years on active duty with the U.S. Army. A Master Parachutist, Marion served with the 82nd Airborne Division and Army Special Operations Command. He is a veteran of Operations JUST CAUSE (Panama) and DESERT STORM (South West Asia).
Marion is qualified as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, a Registered Craniosacral Therapist and Reiki Practitioner.
